New Zealand Politician Tracker

New Zealand Herald Election 08 Tracker

The New Zealand Herald have released a Google Maps mashup ahead of November's New Zealand general election. The map shows where each of the leaders of the main parties are.

Each of the political parties leaders are listed in the map sidebar. When you click on a politician's name the map centres on their location and an information window opens describing their location and their planned speaking engagements for the day.

This map is obviously a great idea for tracking the speaking engagements of politicians during an election campaign. You could even argue that politicians, as our paid representatives, should be tagged and tracked all the time. Or would that be treating them too much like criminals?
